What is a Chiropractor?

Someone who specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and overall management of conditions that are due to problems with the joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves of the body, in particular the spine.

Chiropractors are primary healthcare professionals. In the same regard as Dentists and GP’s all Chiropractors are registered with a national regulatory body set up by parliament called the General Chiropractic Council.

Chiropractors are highly trained to diagnose and treat mechanical dysfunction. Chiropractic does not involve the use of drugs and surgery.

What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a straight forward method of adjusting the bones of your body to improve the alignment of your skeleton, and through this process help the nervous system to work more efficiently. The purpose of chiropractic care is to realign and rebalance your body to relieve pain and discomfort, and increase mobility.

A misalignment of the joints can occur for many reasons; some of the most common are incorrect lifting, car or sporting accidents, falls, stress, and poor posture. This can lead to pain, numbness, pins and needles, or restricted mobility.
